Revolver Golden Gods – Best Guitarist Nominees

Revolver Golden Gods Awards Best Guitarist

Revolver Golden Gods Awards Best Guitarists, presented by Epiphone

And the nominees are…

Jinxx and Jake Pitts (Black Veil Brides)
Zoltan Bathory and Jason Hook (Five Finger Death Punch)
Willie Adler and Mark Morton (Lamb of God)
Robb Flynn and Phil Demmel (Machine Head)
Dave Mustaine and Chris Broderick (Megadeth)
Matt Heafy and Corey Beaulieu (Trivium)

Let’s break this down proper.

Cancel the first two out, unless you’re a 13 year old twat who finds this type of crap revolutionary. Or you just don’t know how to use the internet and rely on advertising fueled radio to feed you shit. That leaves us with four sets of BROs. I have no idea how they land on these pairs, aside from Roadrunner writing out big fat checks, but I’m going to base the winner off their most recent recordings.

First up, Lamb of God. Resolution goes hard in the paint – standard LoG, but if you were surprised by that one, you’re a remarkable asshole.

Robb Flynn and company returned this year with Unto The Locust and seemed poised for Hood Metal Boss status, but instead fell flat on their faces delivering a soulless shell of an EPIC thrash record. It’s got everything you would supposedly look for, except heart.

On to Megadeth. Clearly Dave Mustaine has already achieved BOSS status, and if you need an education on that one, get fucked, but I can’t get behind the Deth on this one simply because I didn’t check out the new record. Heard it sucked though, so fuck ’em. DAZHOWEDO.

That brings us to Trivium, whom surprised the shit out of me with the curiously solid In Waves this past year. Lamb of God’s new one was good, but Trivium putting out listenable tunes is far more unexpected.

JUICE’S PICK:The Golden God goes to the boys of Trivium, Book it and lock it, nerds.
